Welcome to the Parish of Kinawley-Killesher. A Catholic Parish in the Diocese of Kilmore spanning south Fermanagh and west Cavan.
We believe that we are called to proclaim the Good News, to build a Christian community in the four parish areas - Kinawley, Swanlinbar, Killesher, Wheathill and to serve the people of God through the Catholic faith lived, and deepened in the presence of the risen Lord in our lives. We desire to evangelise with joy, mindful of the words of Pope Francis: 'An evangelizer must never look like someone who has just come back from a funeral'. ("Evangelii Gaudium," Nov. 24, 2013).
We are devoted to worship, to witness, and joyful service in the Spirit. We endeavour in line with our parish motto/logo above, to be 'strong in faith'. We look to the wisdom of the saints. We take to heart the words of our Lord to Saint Francis: 'Go and rebuild my church', as we encourage more people to be involved in the life of the parish, especially our beloved young people. We also take to heart the words of Pope John Paul II: 'Open wide the doors to Christ' and the words of Pope John XXIII: “Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.”
May the joy of the Lord be our strength (Nehemiah 8:10) and may the heroic witness of all who have gone before us, marked with the sign of faith, be our inspiration.
